Black & White images give a feeling that time has stopped, that we have caught & captured this small moment. It can be bright & airy or can have a bit of mystery to it.
I think there will always be a debate on color vs. black & white. What it comes down to is preference, mood & what we as photographers are looking for in the overall feel of our image. I personally like them both & as a photographer I think the choice should be yours. Don’t limit yourself, try both & create what you want your art to be. Try turning your favorite image into B&W or vice versa. Does the mood change, do you like it more, what do you prefer?
